Quick Video Converter is a neat video conversion app that also lets you cut and join video files, as well as extract image frames and audio tracks from them.
Though its official description states that it supports a lot of file formats, I was able to use this tool only to process AVI, ASF, WMV, FLV, and MPG video files. When adding other formats, like MP4 or MOV, an error message was displayed, though those files were supported by other converters without any problem. Furthermore, though very popular lately, the MKV format is not supported by this tool by default. The app also crashed a couple of times for unknown reasons; leaving me with the impression it’s a rather unstable and unreliable tool. This is quite a big deal especially when taking into consideration the fact that this tool is not free. Anyway, it also offers several advantages. For example, it’s simple and easy-to-use, thanks to the straightforward, neat and intuitive interface. Even beginners can use it. It also allows configuring advanced parameters of the output files, like bit rates and frame rates, regardless of the selected formats. It can extract the sound tracks from video files and save them as WAV, MP3 or WMA files, and it can output still frames to the PNG, BMP, JPEG, TIFF and GIF image formats.
Summing it all up, though it looked quite promising, all the crashes and errors makes me refrain myself from recommending this tool.
